Pernek - Cmelok
A beautiful route that leads partly along the educational trail and along the paths where the mining railway led in the past. Along the route, we meet old buried mine tunnels. The top of Cmelok will then reward us with a beautiful view. On the way down, back to the village of Pernek, we again cross the educational trail and places for a view and relaxation. Enjoy your walk!
You can download the route here.
At the beginning, a slight climb awaits us. After the fourth kilometer, it starts to get steeper, but it's nothing tragic. We will overcome a total of 579 meters of altitude. The descent is moderate with a few steeper sections.
If you come for our walk by car, in the village you will find a special parking lot for tourists. Here is the link to the location on Google maps.
From the parking lot, we follow the yellow sign and very quickly find ourselves in the forests of the Little Carpathians.
Small gorges are passable on our way by embankments through which the mining railway line led. There is one such at the tourist intersection Pioniersky Most (396).
The end of the mining railway was located at this place. We will continue along the yellow sign in the direction of the arrow.
The top is already approaching and the climb is steeper.
About one kilometer before the top, we leave the yellow trail and follow the yellow route.
At the top of Cmelok, apart from telecommunication equipment, which is not suitable for photography, we will not find anything interesting.
But about 200 meters further along the red sign, we make a small turn to the left...
... and a beautiful view of the Baba mountain pass opens up to us...
... and the town of Pezinok.
We continue along the red sign, until we turn to the yellow one, which is very inconspicuous. Keep track of your GPS device.
On the yellow route, we find other places with educational information and benches to rest.
At this place, you can see from a distance and with the help of a map, where the mining railway line led.
Our walk will end with a green-marked route. The turn to it is again hidden and covered by a tree.
Now all you have to do is follow the green sign, cross the bridge over the stream and we are back in the village of Pernek. Thank you for walking with me.
