Walking With White

"Wander Often Wonder Always"
About Me

My name is Tibor "White" Feher. I am an enthusiastic walker and I love wandering through mountains, meadows, and fields, I simply enjoy walking. When planning routes, I choose lesser-known trails and while embarking on them, I enjoy solitude, listen to the sounds of nature, or play a good audiobook in my headphones. You won't find me on social networks, I avoid them. I read emails only sporadically, so if you write to me, don't expect a quick, or even any, reply.

Every trip is an opportunity for me to discover new corners, capture interesting moments, and immerse myself in the atmosphere of the landscape around me. I try to notice details that others might miss, a lone old tree in the middle of a meadow, the quiet murmur of a forest stream, or the view of distant hills shrouded in morning mist. These little things are what make each hike a unique experience and give the journeys a special character, which I enjoy sharing through my notes and observations. I created these pages for you, those who are planning to walk in places I have already explored, and perhaps my notes will be useful to you. I wish you pleasant moments browsing my pages, and maybe we will meet in nature...

Walking

Why does this White keep talking about walking — it's all hiking, isn't it? No, I really don't want to meddle in the work of mountain hikers. I'm just speaking about simple walks, not about pushing one's limits and achieving superhuman feats by conquering epic peaks. When evaluating some of the trails I've covered, I'll use terms like difficult and demanding, but only from the perspective of a person out for a healthy stroll. Even the poles I use on these walks aren't for hiking, but for nordic walking.

Healthy walks go hand in hand with healthy eating. I'm not a nutrition expert and don't want to spin endless tales about what people should eat. If you're looking for that kind of advice, you'll find an endless amount on the internet. I follow just a few principles: my first meal is never before 9:00, my last no later than 17:00, I try to eat as little UPF and meat as possible. Otherwise, I eat pretty much everything, but always in such a way that three-quarters of my plate is vegetables. Note: in my opinion, potatoes don't count as vegetables.

Field Recording

According to Wikipedia:

Field recording is the production of audio recordings outside recording studios, and the term applies to recordings of both natural and human-produced sounds. It can also include the recording of electromagnetic fields or vibrations using different microphones like a passive magnetic antenna for electromagnetic recordings or contact microphones, or underwater field recordings made with hydrophones to capture the sounds and/or movements of whales, or other sealife. These recordings are often regarded as being very useful for sound designers and foley artists.

During my walks, I often listen to audiobooks, especially when nothing much is happening around me, or when there's too much going on, like the noise of traffic and other human activity. Sometimes, however, there are lucky moments when the modern world quiets down and the wonderful sounds of nature take over. That's when I stop, set up my field recording equipment, and with wonder record the birdsong, the babbling of a stream, the whispers of wind in the treetops...
